One of the best winter climates in Greece
|
Plakias is one of the most southern places in Europe.
In fact across the sea from there you can see the southern-most part
of Europe, the Island of Gavdos. This geographical position contributes
to the fact that the area of Plakias is very warm all year round,
including the winter. 
Stefanos Village hotel is located on the slope of a mountain which
overlooks the Gulf of Plakias at an angle that protects it from the
winter winds. Also this orientation gives plenty of sunshine from
the early hours of the morning until sunset. It is really very exciting
to dress in summer clothes and at the same time to watch the snow-white
peaks of the Cretan mountains, which are so white that they became
known as "Lefka Ori" which in Greek means White Mountains.
Unlike in much of north Europe, in Crete the vegetation during the
winter is green. The trees and bushes are in full bloom and form part
of the colourful and spectacular surroundings. |

Stefanos Village hotel will be open during the winter.
The hotel provides all the usual services for its guests.  Stefanos
Village, unlike the most Greek hotels, has been built to provide accommodation
during the winter as well as during the summer.
Whilst all of the apartments are centrally heated most also have luxury
fireplaces made from limestone which give added warmth and comfort.
Even though in the winter the Plakias region is not as busy as the
summer, some good restaurants and some shops continue to operate throughout
the winter. Plakias for many years has been considered the most favourable
place in south Crete amongst travellers as a place to stay during
the Cretan winter on account of its climate, its location and ideal
surroundings. |
